Jennifer Braddock came to editing by way of two very different worlds: government work and small-town journalism.

As a local government staff member, she excelled at weaving narrative into grant proposals. She learned how precision, clarity, and persuasion could coexist in a single document.

Later, she switched careers and became a reporter for a rural newspaper. Her beat ranged from school board meetings to the annual homecoming queen coronation. This event was written up with the reverence of a Miss America pageant.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, isolation opened a door. Drawing on her background in grant writing, Jennifer discovered a knack for editing that was both meticulous and empathetic. She began shaping manuscripts with the same care she once gave to proposals and news copy.

“I’m very introverted,” she explained. “COVID or no COVID, I don’t get out much. I don’t have any social media profiles. I like surfing the sites. I’m a lurker. They’re a great source for story material!”

At Best Chance Media, she found a natural home. Jennifer believes stories, in every form, including books, articles, or community newsletters, should be accessible to everyone. Her editorial style reflects that conviction: she balances structure with voice, clarity with authenticity, always keeping the reader in mind.

Jennifer is Mom to Neko, an orange, white and black longhair calico cat. She works out of her home office behind the scenes, helping others’ words shine.
